This seems to be a strange problem.  Can you access the IIS log file and then bring up the home page and click Register or Login to get the 404, and then paste the relevant lines from the IIS log into a reply, please.

Hi, I ordered the logfile from my provider and will post it as soon as possible. What do you think, is it possible that the problem is a subdomain in the installation path http://wl21www608.webland.ch? Thanks, Christopher

Hi, I got the log file from provider. I save it on the server as txt file:

http://www.idkdfaculty.org/ex060714.txt

I deleted the installation on real time domain wl21www608.webland.ch and installed it again with the domain name www.idkdfaculty.org. But I stil have the same problem. I've seen that the cs(Referer) in log file has no parameter, like
this: http://www.idkdfaculty.org/Home/tabid/36/ctl/Login/Default.aspx

Can you please ask someone else if you don't have any idea what the problem could be, because my deadline
from the customer is next week ((. You ask me question but I still didn't hear enythings else cc24x7.

Thanks for every advices, Christopher.

Yes!!!!! I found the solution. Try to log in and set the Checkbox "Use friendly URLs" to false:

  1. http://www.yourdomain.com/Default.aspx?tabid=36&ctl=Login
  2. http://www.yourdomain.com/Default.aspx?tabid=36
  3. http://www.yourdomain.com/Default.aspx?tabid=16&portalid=0

I don't know the section in web.config, but I think there should be one.

ANd..., have fun with DNN 4.x, the best DotNet portal. Liebe Grüsse Christopher

Hello:  I can get to all the pages using bullet points 1-3 but when I try to use the links from there I get the missing page error.  Is there a way to change the "use friendly URLs" from somewhere else?
