Hi. Yes you can do it directly on the database: find table HostSettings and set UseFriendlyUrls to N.

I am having the same problem with my new webhost which I didn't have with my previous one. I was able to turn off friendlyurls which allowed me to log in and navigate the fresh install of my portal in 4.3.3 (still trying to find out what the problem is preventing friendlyurls). I now find that I cannot add or modify portals or pages. Anything running the WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(...) comes up with a "Script Error!" and nothing is processed. I'm thinking this is a related problem but if no one else is having the same problem then maybe not.

I've been through this step by step with the webhost and everything they have done to set up the installatiuon seems correct. I even downloaded the same installation to my local machine and using the online database it seems to work perfectly friendlyurls and all. The only difference being is that I'm running WinXP Pro and the webhost runs Win2k3.

I'm just looking for any info on a resolution for the problem instead of just a fix. Thanks.

Mike

Sounds like you could be missing the aspnet_client directory on your host?

Scott, thanks for the info. I'm not much on asp.net 2.0 requirements. I did add the aspnet_client directory to my virtual directory root and the javascripts started working again. I assume the webhost also needed to add the directory to their root system but I didn't stay around to find out and will start over again with another webhost. The friendlyurls still weren't working however but I guess I'll have to worry about that if it ever comes up again.

Thanks again,

Mike

Scott, C an you just add the aspnet_client directory via 'create directory' ?  I'm having the same problem with an error: 'webform_PostBackOption' is undefined?  Any Ideas?
