I am developing a DNN module which requires writing code in the Application_BeginRequest inside global.asax. I could make it in my site but I cannot make it in a customer’s DNN installation. Is there a way to have my version of global.asax so that I will be able to put my code there? I know that there is a way to put multiple files which will act as global.asax but I do not know how to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Not aware of anything that will allow multiple files to act as your Global.asax file in .NET.

Sounds like you're confusing the use of multiple external files referenced in your web.config file.

I do not know how to do it buy I suppose there is a way to have some code executed through Application_BeginRequest event of global.asax file for my module. I just would like to know how to do it. I may try to find it using a wrong way but I guess someone may have a suggestion of how to make it in DNN modules.

As far as modifying the global.asax file, that's a dead end as far as DNN module development goes.

You need to take it back up a level : what are you trying to achieve? What do you want to use the global.asax file for?

It should be entirely possible to achieve the same thing using another method, there are plenty of ways to achieve the same objective.

I have developed a module which handles articles and I want to add a field in each article which will define the friendly url. This will allow each of my article to have a predefined friendly url by it's author. In order to make it dynamically I have to have access to the Application_BeginRequest method of global.asax. I have done it in normal ASP.NET pages and I want to make it in my DNN module as well. Is there a different way to do it?
