Firstly why is it that when I post a request for advice help comment call it want you want it does not show up...even after 30 min!!

I went to the start again expecting that maybe I missed something ...read the pdf installation files and it sure does not cater for a basic computor minded person.

Whats more ...nothing is said about having to purchase and use visual 2005...UP in MINUTES??? Cant someone give a step by step guide to show how one can be up in minutes! This guide should only take a minute or two then !

So lets see if I get side swiped or helped from here ... Cant wait much longer ?

Thanks anyway!

Easily Installed – DotNetNuke can be up-and-running within minutes.  One must simply download the software from DotNetNuke.com, and follow the installation instructions.

To answer you comment on having to wait for help.  New users posts are moderated (by volunteers) and sometimes the wait is longer than some pople would like.

With regard to Visual Studio 2005 - if you use the Install or Starter Kit packages you do not need VS 2005 (just Visual Web Developer (VWD), which is free).

And using the Starter Kit (in VWD), once you create a project you get help instructions right in VWD to help you install your site.

Charles has already answered your comments, all I can add is that the Installation Guide is the best starting place and does its best to help a computer savvy person. However, not all people will feel comfortable and they have alternatives. There are several hosters that will install it for free. And there are also some people who offer their services to install DNN for a fee. Please take some time to get acquainted with DNN by reading the documentation and posting in the forums your questions. There's a big community that has already been through the installation process and will help you.

All that been said I am locking this post, this forum is not appropriate. Discussions like this belong to Let's Chat About it.
