my dnn site is hosted in dedicated Amazon cloud instance.  the site is very slow after period of inactivity.  it stays in 'waiting for http://<site>' for about 10-15 seconds before downloading.  after first long wait, the navigation to other webpages is okay.  But very slow when I go to any webpage after long period of inactivity.  How do I fix this?   Thank you.

Sounds like you could benefit from a keep alive service. Tons already discussed on this forum and others about this very thing: https://www.google.com/search?q=dnn+keep+alive&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

It seems that you have little or no traffic, so your website goes to sleep.

Try Pingdom service. Just a suggestion, i use it to check my uptime but does the job also of "keep-alive".
