My first mistake is having set up my client's DNN site with GoDaddy; please stay with me. How I would love to convince them to move to PowerDNN. Last week I know the site was up and running because I showed it to a potential client. Today  on 12/31 I went to screenshot it and it was down with this error. I haven't touched anything. Not the web.config file, haven't needed to login, or make any changes to the .aspx files - nothing. Why would this happen out of the ordinary? What is going on? So I called GoDaddy support and the guy disabled the web.config file and the site is up however I can't login because I get the error below also.

My question is simple, what happened?

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

Hello Kyle, I can troubleshoot the issue for you. Godaddy is not any good for DNN hosting with economy package. How do i know? Because I have tried all combinations of Windows Hosting packages provided by them.

I have published many tutorials for DNN @ Godaddy users, so i think i can solve your problem. If not you can move to PowerDNN or Hostgator (cheaper then PowerDNN) and works quite good for my needs so far.

Please send me a msg from Skype (idcons) if you are interested in.

Regards.
