Hello, I have to make a posting because I never can find any information on this forum through searches.  The search feature has never worked for me, no matter what I search for, there are no topics found.

I just need someone to point me in the right direction.  There is no documentation on how to run the menu systems in dnn 6 or at least I can't find it.  All I want to do is have 2 menu skin objects, one horizontal, the main menu and  a vertical one on the sidebar showing the child pages for a particular root page.   I have been to the DDR menu site and it is all coding language, I am not a coder and don't have time to decipher the XSLT or what have you....I don't want an accordion, dropdown or treeview either, just a plain list of links....I bought a module menu object but it injected a bunch of css styles into the top header of the page, I don't want that either

everytime I try to put a second menu in the sidebar, the top menu dissappears - I think there must be something about this topic somewhere, having a sidebar sub menu is a standard practice to go along with horizontal navigation.....

Hi,

To do a search on this site use Google.  Do a standard search and add 'site:dotnetnuke.com'.  the site keyword in a Google search says "I only want hits from this site".  Works with any site Google has indexed.

To answer your question check out this blog post by Timo: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/B...

what you want to do is this add your own menustyle etc but here is the structure to use for ddrmenu setup ( in this example I use the ulxslt from the ddrmenu tempaltes codeplex project since you can style that to be horizontal or vertica;

top

< ddr:menu runat="server" menustyle="ullxslt" nodeselector="rootonly" / >

side

< ddr:menu runat="server" menustyle="ullxslt" nodeselector="rootchildren" / >
