I have a couple of HTML modules that use jQuery UI tabs to help format the content.  In pre DNN 6, I would just include the following line in the Html Editor and then I could enter javascript/jQuery code to hook up the jQuery UI tabs.  Since jQuery UI wasn't used anywhere in the site by default, I knew I would not have a page where it was double registered (i.e: once by the page and again by the HTML Module).

<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/..." type="text/javascript"></script>

In DNN 6+, since jQuery and jQuery UI are used by the DNN Core, I don't want to include this line in my Html Editor because there is a chance that the jQuery UI library is already registered by the page. Is it possible inside an html module to check to see if the jQuery UI library is registered, and if not register it? Or is there even a better or other way to accomplish this?

Thanks!

you could check for the existance of jquery via script - http://www.mkyong.com/jquery/how-to-check-if-jquery-library-is-loaded/

With jQuery becoming such a common / popular tool - it would maybe be an idea to include an option in the HTML module settings to inject jQuery / UI if it is needed.

Thanks Cathal - that would work for testing if jQuery is loaded,  I didn't see anything like that for jQueryUI though.

Wes, that would be perfect - great idea!  Really wish that was incorporated now.
