I have a site that is forcing me to login when a navigate from one part of the site under https://www.localhost.com to https://localhost.com.

Not sure why I am being forced to login again.  What is odd is if I login, then I can navigate to the page fine.  However, if I logoff from the https://localhost.com  url, then I am still logged on under https://www.localhost.com

I only have one portal and both URLs are setup as portal alias.

 Any insight would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem, set
"Portal alias maping mode" to "none",
"HTTP Alias" to "www.yourpage.com" and "yourpage.com"
clear the browser's cache

Accepted Answer

I figured out what was wrong.

In IIS I needed to add both the WWW and non-www domain name to the Host Header for the site.

Well,

It looks like I didn't figure it out.  The issue remains.  Anyone else have this issue?

go to Site Settings in Admin menu, and make sure, your preferred domain name is set as default and all others are redirecting to it.
