Hi,

   I try to setup dnn to send email.  I have added smpt setting to dnn.  I got test email from dotnetnuke.  But when I try Retrieve Password on login page.  I cannot get password email to me.  Please give me some advice how to troubleshoot the problem.

Please check the following:

1. The portal admin user's email address is a valid email address as it is this address that is used as the Send From address for all notifications such as used for the forgotten password email.

2. Make sure that if your provider's mail server requires authentication you have set up the proper fields in Host Settings, SMTP settings. Without proper credentials for authentication, it is possible for the test email (which is sent from and to the same domains on the mail server) may go through without issue but emails sent to a different domain will fail.

3. When logged in as host user, check the Admin -->Event Viewer for related email sending errors which may give more information as to the cause of the problem.
