Hi,

I want to add the site map URL shown in the DNN site settings in my robots.txt file however the <loc> tag looks like this for all my pages:

 <loc>www.fortlewis.eduhttps://www.fortlewis.edu:443/biology/Home.aspx</loc>

Since this is not a valid URL I think Google is going to have some issues with it. Is there a way to fix this? I'm using DNN 5.6.

 Thanks,

-s

you don't need to create the entries in robots.txt, instead the recommended way is to submit the sitename.com/sitemap.aspx to google (i.e. via the google webmaster tools) - please make a similar request in your browser and inspect the results to see if they are valid (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Sitemap_Providers.aspx)

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I'm managing about 160 separate child portals on the same domain so, rather than submitting them all separately, I thought I would just add each one to my robots file. But, it might be good to set up a separate site in webmaster tools for all of them so I can track them separately.

As for the error, for some reason DNN occasionally puts me into HTTPS when I logged in so that was causing the issue. When I changed to HTTP the site map is fine.

Thanks,

-s
