Ok, so things seem to have gotten a little stranger...

I tried to upload a test file that was larger than the Telerik file by about 0.5mb to the root folder, after a few attempts it succeeded, so I thought maybe the file size limit I had received through the web interface was incorrect. So I tried to upload the Telerik file to the bin directory and again, fail after fail, I then increased the retry limit, fail after fail again. I decided to try and upload to the root with the new retry limit and just leave it going for a while.

SUCCESS! the file uploaded to the root, so I thought it'd be really simple just to move it to the bin directory, for some reason now I'm getting the 550 error again so I tried to move the larger test file, no problem there. I renamed the Telerik file by just removing the last L from DLL, sucess again. Here I though it must let me just rename the file but no. I now get a "550 The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another proces" error instead of the 550 access denied .

To me this seems really bizarre. I'll fire off an update to the hosting support to let them know the file is in the correct dir and just needs an L added to the end of it.

Can anyone understand what's been going on?

Sorry to be flooding my own thread but hopefully this information may be helpful to others experiencing the same issues.

After renaming and moving the Telerik.Web.UI.dll file to the bin directory, I was unable to rename the file back to its correct name, I was however, able to rename the directory to bin1, then change the name of the telerik file back to its original name and rename the directory bin1 to bin and finally I was able to install DNN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to say thank you to the experts at 123-reg but I as an utter novice was able to resolve the issue, well, work around it, myself.
