I just talked to our IT Department and they just told me that we are in the middle of setting up a windows and Linux shared server hosting.  looks like its not going to be unlimited bandwidth or space but looks like there is going to be add-on you can get for more bandwidth or space...The prices are not set yet but if you are interested please let me know and once i get more info i can pass it along.

Thanks

Mark

Hello Costas,

Do you have any specific details about the reason you are having such issues with your site. Was anyone able to help determine the root cause? Regardless of which hosting provider you take this is going to be an apparent issue where ever you host and I would like to see if I can at least point you in the right direction. If you like, you I can set you up with a 15 day free trial and I can see about our guys troubleshooting your issues. We may not be able to outright fix them (then again we might), but at least this will give a direction on where to go after that. If it is with PowerDNN great! If not, we are happy to help out the community.

Well i have 3 DNNs and 25 Classic Asp files, on the same server. It is a server thing, simply. Since the server has IIS & email server, everything goes down several times a day or something is stuck and they restart it. Or some website abuses the server and everything is very slow for some minutes randomly.

Since i have used a lot of shared hosting for the last 10+ years, Shared = Shared. All that is expected more or less. Some can live with it, some don't.

Yes, that is a very unfortunate circumstance of shared hosting. What it really boils down to is how your provider deals with those challenges. You should try and find out if they have measures in place to deal with unruly sites that utilize too much CPU/RAM etc. and if they have services in place to help identify and troubleshoot these types of site before they happen to bog everything down. We do all of these and more, we actually take it a step further and we purposely limit the number of DotNetNuke installs on our shared servers to help combat this sort of thing.

I don't want to make this sound like a sales pitch, but we have been dealing with DotNetNuke hosting for years now and have really refined the process, especially for shared hosting. It's our bread and butter.  Again you are more than welcome to check us out free of commitment for a few weeks.

Good luck Costas!
