Hi,

 

I have been working with images in the Text/HTML module. I noticed they were disappearing. I looked at the HTML and found this src="/SSCIDNN/Services/tabid/55/ctl/Edit/mid/370/SamplePicture04.jpg". I changed it to this src=”SamplePicture04.jpg” clicked update and got the image back. However, if I go back to Design mode the full path that does not work comes back if I do a save. There is something fundamental about how paths in DNN work and how this editor works that I do not understand. I suspect this has something to do with the skinning engine and how it selects a relative path. I just don’t understand how to fix it when the path is not constructed correctly. Can somebody enlighten me? Thanks.

Have you tried letting DotNetNuke establish your path- - just select the image from the browse image icon and apply it. DotNetNuke is dynamic and it depends on the type of installation you have - eg.. virtual directory, portal 0, 1, 2, live or local paths, so the idea is to select the image, and DNN should pick it up for you.

And yes it's got nothing to do with the skinning side of things although I can understand you might get confused due to the fact they are both using images.

Well, that was embarrassingly easy. Thanks, it worked and so far it seems to not be vanishing when I switch between HTML and Design Mode or make other changes.
