Hello.

We have upgraded from 5>6 and experiencing an issue with updating user email addresses.  We receive the following error.  Note that in the web config, we have requiresUniqueEmail="false" ... just upgraded to 6.2.3 and still have this issue.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

This portal requires a unique Email Address. The Email Address you entered has already been used.

very odd - is this site in a subfolder/application where the root application is also asp.net -web.config files are inherited - in addition if this is set at the machine.config level you may not be able to overrider (however I've never heard of such a configuration. One other perhaps more likely possible is that there is another issue - the code throws that if it is unable to generate the displayname on an update, when this happens the exception is logged - please check admin->event viewer to see if something has been logged that would help determine the problem

Nothing in the log. I checked to make sure everything in the log has been turned on. Also, no other sites/config files.

Actually, a completely random email change causes the same error. Further, the password cannot be changed. "There was an error setting the password. The password has not been changed."

Also, I notice now that the dates for created/last login/last activity are all now set to 1/1/0001.

The site was slowly upgraded recently from 2.1.2 to 6.1.3 following the recommended upgrade path to 6.1.2 and then final upgrade to 6.1.3. It is now impossible to update any user's data.

Any suggestions?

I suggest comparing module definition for User Accounts with the ones in a blank new DNN 6.1.3 installation, there might be leftovers from previous versions and some modifications not be applied.
