Hi All --

I have got purchased and installed a custom skin and I need to add two text blocks to the header area of that skin. I have never worked with DNN skins but I have quite some experience with ASP.NET development, and as far as I see in \Admin\Skins folder there exist

- Text.ascx,  Text.ascx.cs and Text.xml

template(?) skin objects, which I suppose could be used to fulfill the subject task. But as I'm new to DNN skinning I need some guidance what should I do. I guess I should copy and rename the above three files for my two text blocks, then list them in the skin's .ascx and then do some editing of the copied files sources to make them displaying the text I need to be displayed in my web site header area...

I have got links to DNN SKinning Wiki (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Skins.aspx) and from there I should be able to find how to make text blocks but that promise to be a longer way than I can afford now (I have to make a quick fix) - do you know/have any direct links to DNN Skinning tutorials' part where making custom textblocks/skin objects in a DNN skin is described in details?

Thank you.

Thank you, Richard,

I will work through blog series you mentioned as I wanted to get more familiar with DNN modules to be able to modify them and maybe even develop my own in the future...

I have currently found that I have missed that the custom skin I have purchased allows to put a module instance in the header area - so I have just put HTML module there and typed my two html text blocks in an html table - and it worked well for me.
