Hello,

I currently have in one DNN Installation (Version 6.1.2) three portals. I would like to move two of the portals (PortalIDs 1 and 2) into their own DNN Installation. Is that possible? If so what are the steps?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Albert

Albert,I suspect the only solution is based upon copying the database & file structure. This assumes that each of the portals is a parent portal. 1) Make 2 more copies of the database with a MS SQL Admin tool.2) Make 2 more copies of the DNN folder set.3) Edit the web.config file in each of the new folder sets to connect to the name of new SQL Databases.4) Open into Host Admin in each configuration. - Remove the other two Portals, so that only the desired one is left.5) Modify the Portal Aliases if the IP is changing, etc.6) Lastly remove the unneeded sub-folders for removed portals.I believe this is the only way to prevent issues varitions of installed Moduals, tabID, ModulalID, etc. between installs.Gary

Gary,

Thanks for the helpful information. I've already made a copy of the database (.mdf and .ldf). Now when I get to step 4 of your instructions will I be able to delete Portal 0? In the current DNN installation I do not see an option to delete Portal 0.

Thanks,
Albert
