Since I know that DNN Corp. just couldn't function without my opinion......

Snowcovered has needed an update for quite some time. Visually the new store is much nicer than the old one - although snowcovered was so outdated it might be very difficult to build one that looked worse. :-)

I like the new module filters (top sellers by units, revenue, reviews, etc.) The top sellers by units really helps new users realize that most of the modules on snowcovered are outdated as number 5 on the list is a "top seller" module from 2006 (which there are numerous newer versions of). Also on the list of "top sellers" is a module from the 2007 or so era that was abandoned a year or so ago (Indoogrid).  The developers ought to be really happy that you're highlighting ancient versions of their modules before the newer ones. This should help new users to buy modules that don't work with the newer versions of the framework and thereby drastically increase customer support issues.

I'm assuming your goal was to reduce sales so I'd have to say Good Job!!  :-)

On a more serious side I really did like the top sellers list on the old snowcovered - it was interesting to see who had the #1 spot or who was in the top ten.  Hopefully you'll want to increase sales at some point in the future and change some of the above filters so they work differently and heck, maybe even clean out some of those really outdated modules?  Here's hoping.

I also had expected some helpful features in the new store. While the visual overhaul was certainly due another due overhaul would have been to add features for vendors to finally create new module versions rather than re-creating module listings. The are so many listing entries that simply are a copy of existing modules only differing by the version number that this does neither help the visitor nor the vendors.

Don't want to walk through all the usability bugs here, but quite frankly, with all the buzz around the new store in the last months I would have expected a solid launch with at least the feedback of all vendors selling in the store.

Cheers,

I couldn't agree more with both of you.

TBH: I could not care less how it looks - I simply want to be able to find current modules without wading through duplicated and out of date listings.
That said, maybe the plan is to get the UI sorted out first and then begin the weeding of old stuff and the fixing of all the bad product ad markup second.  If it was me that would be my method.  The idea of doing both at once is a bit scary?
