Hello,

I haven't yet gone through the Administration video, but just wanted to toss out this for my information.  Are pages usually created on the DotNetNuke forum? I know from the Welcome video that they can be, but is that the general way or in other words, the best practice?  I don't mean to advertrise this, but since Visual Web Developer Express was loaded via the Intall program on the DNN site, I think it is ok to specify that my development in the past several years has been with VWD.  Is it just as well to create my pages using that or can I get better functionality using the DNN interface.  It seems like the later, but I'd like some input.  If it is better with DNN then why even associate with VWD?

Thank you for your help and God Bless,

Mark A. Sam

Use DNN. The pages aren't actual pages anyway. I believe the only page is default.aspx and that essentially loads what appears to be all pages within the website.

Mark,

Thank you for your reponse.  My aim is to create a site to display music videos using embedded links. I found a module (or extension, I'm not sure of the term to use) which will accomplish this for me.  It will have tabs and dropdowns for the user to find particular videos.  Can I do this without using visual studio?  The Basic Module Development instruction video got into using Visual Studio, which isn't want I want to do.

God Bless,

Mark

I understand this now.  DNN creates pages dynamically.  The video I was watching address the making of Modules, a different functionality and, something I'm not interested.

If you have a module, you don't need VS. Install the module, add it to a page and you should be all set.
