Good day,

I plan on installing DNN 6.1.3 on a box with SQL 2008 Express, but my company will be eventually purchasing SQL 2008 R2 Standard.  I want to get going on the DNN install and am wondering if I install DNN on SQL Express 2008 (all on the same server) how difficult would it be to move it over to the new SQL Server 2008 R2 on a different (but local) server when its up and running?

If its possible are there any docs on the procedure, any things to avoid or prepare for?

TIA,

- Joe

There is a video in the library covering how to do this, it is pretty straight forward (the video is for DNN5, don't worry, it should work the same for DNN6)

essentially, you create a backup and restore it on the target server. next provide a proper new login on the server and grant permission to your database.
