Per the one man band vendors, they are certainly aren't a bad thing, as many of them provide nifty and practical teatures for DNN. What I meant by scary is that if you're implemented one of their products on a large scale basis (my site is now at 500+ tabs--and each is unique!) in your site (not including its subsite), as I do repeatedly with many of the modules, if they disappear (which has happened to me a couple of times), you're screwed unless you bought the source code (but not all module vendors provde source). But, that's life, right?

Anyway, I've been prepping my site for the upgrade to DNN6 by systematically upgrading some 30+ modules and that's where the jquery issues began to rear its ugly head.
