I'm using UDT as a Contacts module w/ the different columns representing different contact info. (last name, first name, phone extension, email, cell, fax, etc.).  When I do a site search for a contact all the relevant info is returned in the search results summary except for my third column (phone Ext.).  I've tried this w/ several different records/contacts/people and it always returns the same.  I've re-indexed and gone through the Search forums here already.  Any ideas?

if you declared the datatype of that column to be numeric, the column does not get indexed by design. use text instead.

That column, along w/ all the other colums except email, is set for Type = Text.  Maybe when I first set it up I chose numeric, but it has since been changed to text.  Might that have something to do w/ it?  I'm not even positive it wasn't Text from the begining.  I would try deleteing and re-adding that column but fear loosing all the data entered.

deleting and re-adding a column will for certain delete the content of this field in all records. please notice, that a type change does not result in re-indexing existing records. you will need to rebuild the search index completely, see here for an instruction.

I ran that SQL script to to rebuild the search index, and the same thing is happening w/ my seacrch results for this particular UDT.  The results it's returning are in the form: last name |  first name | email | cell | fax | office | position | department .  In the table I set up, phone Ext is between first name and e-mail.  And that's the column not being shown in the search results.  All columns are Text type except email.  Any ideas, or shall I just try deleted the column and re-adding the data?
