Hey Everyone.

I've just released a beta for the 05.00.04 release of the Active Directory Provider. Please remember that it is a beta and any use in a production site is done at your own risk. This version of the provider also has DotNetNuke 6.0.0 as the minimum version.

Below are the release notes and you can download the provider from its CodePlex site.

New Items

  • Proper LDAP support: (To use LDAP you need to enter LDAP://yourdomain.com instead of dc=yourdomain, dc=com for the Root Domain in the settings.)
Bug Fixes
  • 7424: IsSuperUser in dbo.Users is reset to false when user logs in with AD Account.
  • 7610: Redirect to Original Page after Authentication.
  • 7620: Authentication ticket has hardcoded timeout.
  • 7640: Reinstall of provider causes web.config error.
  • 7703: Deleted users not re-enabled when logging in manually.
  • 7739: Profile cleared out on login.

To run the provider under IIS 7.x in integrated mode two commands are needed to be run from a command prompt on the server.

  • %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd unlock config /section:anonymousAuthentication
  • %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd unlock config /section:windowsAuthentication

Running it now, seems to be working pretty good so far. SuperUser status seems to be holding now.

One thing I've noticed is that for each portal that uses this authentication I have to go into the extension settings menu and "Update Authentication Settings". This is going to be a pain with over 150 portals.

Not sure why you'd have to do that Dan but I'll look into it to see if I can figure out why.

Running into an issue where a child portal is occasionally being redirected to the parent portal instead.

I.e. If they are attempting to go to http://parentportal/childportal, they are redirected to http://parentportal/Home/tabid/225/logon/63466701935278476/Default.aspx instead and the parentportal is the page shown.

(it occurred to me as I was typing that URL that there might have been more characters off the end, but they were not included in the screenshot)

If they try again a few seconds later, it will work properly.

Thanks Dan, I'll try to recreate the problem.
