I have been tying to sort out the simplest of things but there is no code anywhere. I did sort out my own controls in the userinterface because the DNN controls didnt comply. Yes storing a file in the windows filesystem was a easy thing to do but then to sotre the filedata in the DNN files table was a completely much harder task.... is there ANY sample of doing it the way the DNN core team would like to have it done?

I suggest downloading Documents module source from dnndocuments.codeplex.com and review it ;)

Thanks Sebastian that was an advice worth the name of it. I'll do straight away.

What I am trying to do is to grab a document with my own built controls and upload this document to the server. When that is done I want to store the data about the document in the DNN table files in the proper way. This last part I haven't got working well :(

I'll get on the correct source code now and will keep you guys posted about the progress

It sounds like document module is doing quite the same, i.e. the source should be a good reference for you.
