Hi All,

I've been searching around for the last hour not finding anything useful on DNN's support of resx localization files.

I have an entry in my resx file with key:RegExValEmail.ErrorMessage Value:Email Address is Required.

DNN does not apply this to:

 <asp:RegularExpressionValidator ID="RegExValEmail" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtbxEmail" meta:resourcekey="RegExValEmail">

Or to:

<asp:RegularExpressionValidator ID="RegExValEmail" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtbxEmail" resourcekey="RegExValEmail">

asp:label works fine with a .Text extension, why is this not working?

It should work with .ErrorMessage added to it.

<asp:RegularExpressionValidator ID="RegExValEmail" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtbxEmail" resourcekey="RegExValEmail.ErrorMessage">

Thanks Robert.

That does work, but I was hopping it would follow .Net's Localization so I can simply write my module in one language then in VS2010 go to Tools > Generate Localized Files (I can't remember what the menu options is now.) Then a simple replace to get rid of the meta:

But alas it seems I have to then go and change more now... I've got a lot of things to localize.

So DNN does not follow the .Net Localization model?

FYI we disable .net's localization model and implement our own -primarily so you can localize static text at the portal level i.e. as well as users.ascx.resx/users.ascx.de-de.resx you can create files such users.ascx.1.de-de.resx to localize the text down to the portal level (in this case portal 1)
