Hi,

I am trying to migrate some dotnetnuke websites from a hosting account with the Websitepanel controlpanel to another server with the Enkompass controlpanel.

The problem I am having that I can't create a temporary URL for the website so that I can test it first, before changing the nameservers. Under websitepanel this was automatically created, but that seems to be a bit more difficult under Enkompass and the support department did this for me.

Still, I get this error:

It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

The support department of the hosting company tells me, that it is impossible to create a 'virtual application' on temp URL's.

I have some trouble to believe that. That would mean that you can never test a .NET site without changing nameservers, or am I wrong?

Thanks,

Ron
