I'm new (to DNN and) to an existing DNN site. Previous admin may or may not have provided all user names and passwords. Don't have original "Welcome" email. Have been looking through info to figure all this stuff out but still cannot seem to connect to anything. How do I get in?

You will need to obtain the passwords for the DNN website's admin or host accounts or an account with Administrators or SuperUser permission to manage the site through the DotNetNuke interface. I would first contact the previous admin user to obtain the necessary information.

If that is not possible, do you have access to the site's MS SQL Server database (remote connection information  SQL database username and password) though a separate tool such as MS SQL Server Management Studio? If so, let us know and we can provide information on another way to "get in".

Dear All,

I have installed dotnetnuke website on a subdomain (http://demo.sgh.org.sa) it is working fine here. But today when I have moved it to the root domain (http://sgh.org.sa) so its giving me this error

http://sgh.org.sa/Default.aspx?tabid=63&error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0

Note: the website is running on both domains and using the same database and user. I have deleted the site from subdomain even it is giving me same error. Then again I have copied it on subdomain it is working fine but on root domain still the error is same.

Thanks

Jill - you'll need to get the host/super user ID and password. Try the "recover password' feature and hope you have access to the prior admin's email address and it'll email it to you.

Suhaib - you may want to start your own thread for your problem since it doesn't relate to this one.
