We have using DNN 4.8 we need to upgrade it to latest version today..in our case we have modified the DNN core..like several DNN files+config..

So can we do a direct upgrade DNN 4.8 to 6.2 ??is it recommended or what should we do..??

Pingle has some great advise, when moving from one major DNN version to another (in your case moving up two major releases), its always good practice to follow the upgrade path.

 Just remember though before attempting any upgrade, make sure that any third party modules you have purchased and installed have an upgrade to the new version as well. 

And lastly, ALWAYS take a backup before you do this. Good luck!
