Hello everyone,

I am having difficulty  in using Authorize.Net. I am using Store 3.0. I am using the correct URL of https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll (the account is in test mode). The quantity of the order is greater than zero. But I am getting the error "Code: 270 (TESTMODE) Line item 1 is invalid". This suggests there is an issue with the x_line_item parameter.

Using Gilles suggestion I was able to use Fiddler to get the query sent to Authorize.Net:

 3|1|270|(TESTMODE) Line item 1 is invalid.|000000|P|0|1007||44.99|CC|auth_capture|2|Daffy|O'Duck||123 NoStreet Street|Smithfield|Rhode Island|02917|United States|4014196350|||||||||||0.00||10.00|||F09A5E204DA029581B423760316110B6|||||||||||||XXXX0027|||||||||||||||||

Does this make sense to anyone? Thanks!

-Sam

Hi Sam,

This is the response from Authorize, not the transaction sent to Authorize! Please download the last AIM Guide and look at the page 25 for product requirements:

  • The product name MUST be up to 31 chars
  • The product name MUST NOT contains some funny chars like curly quote, tm or copyright signs and so on. Try to use a short name containing only letters from the basic alphabet (A-Z a-z).
  • The product PRICE must be a positive number (>0)
  • The product QUANTITY must be a positive number (>0)

Please verify above rules and tell me if it solve your problem.

Gilles

After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Gilles,

I realized that after I sent it. :-) I was able to find out the query which is:

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx_version=3.1&x_test_request=False&x_delim_data=True&x_delim_char=%7c&x_encap_char=&x_relay_response=False&x_first_name=Daffy&x_last_name=O%27Duck&x_company=&x_address=123+NoStreet+Street&x_city=Smithfield&x_state=Rhode+Island&x_zip=02917&x_country=United+States&x_phone=4014196350&x_ship_to_first_name=&x_ship_to_last_name=&x_ship_to_company=&x_ship_to_address=&x_ship_to_city=&x_ship_to_state=&x_ship_to_zip=&x_ship_to_country=&x_cust_id=2&x_customer_ip=96.238.50.206&x_invoice_num=1007&x_amount=44.99&x_tax=0.00&x_freight=10.00&x_method=CC&x_type=AUTH_CAPTURE&x_recurring_billing=NO&x_card_num=4007000000027&x_card_code=777&x_exp_date=05%2f2012&x_line_item=78584%3c%7c%3ePelliccia+Single+Estate+Extra+Virgine+Olive+Oil+%3c%7c%3e%3c%7c%3e1%3c%7c%3e34.99%3c%7c%3eY

I'm assuming that this gets URLdecoded on their end. Is there a way to limit the size of the product title (so as to fit in under 31 chars)?

Hi Sam,

Your product name seems to have more than 31 chars. Could change the product name for a shorter one, try to pay with Authorize and tell me if it works? I will truncate automaticaly the product name to 31 chars in the next version.

Hi Gilles,

You are right. In testing, I selected another product that was 10 characters and it went through just fine. Thanks!

Yes, having a maximum length of 31 (truncation) would be great.
