I am having a problem installing dotnetnuke 6.0.4 and connecting to the database during the installation process. I had previously run through this installation without any problems, however since I had to reinstall Windows 7 ultimate service Pack 1 I have not been able to make it all the way through the installation process.

I keep getting an error while the installation is trying to connect to the database. The error message is this basically says that I do not have the right permissions to access the database which was set up using SQL authentication. I have since learned that I'm unable to connect to any database using SQL authentication, I am however able to connect to any database using Windows authentication except for dotnetnuke.

I have set the permissions as per instructions several times. I have deleted everything and started again about five or six times but to no avail.

It appears to be an underlying problem with accessing databases through the SQL provider using SQL authentication. I have even set up a text file called X.UDL and gone through the process when the connection wizard opens. This little application which sets the connection strings will not display any database using SQL authentication.

Any and all information would be great, I have read through extensively all of the posts and articles on this issue, however something seems to be missing, possibly the most important part.

By the way I am trying to set it up on a local computer.

So any help would be appreciated and I am prepared to try anything.

Regards

Trevor
