Overview of the issue:

1.       When visiting the site for the first time I receive an Internal 500 Error and the URL is redirecting to the AD module ( ... /DesktopModules/AuthenticationService...) – I’ve looked on the forums for an answer and haven’t found anything that shows a fix, or that anyone else has experienced the same issue.

2.       How do I go about setting the module up to pull in the security groups we have configured in Active Directory?

3.       Is there and documentation on the various settings/choices for configuring the module?

Thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide me with!

Sorry Herb.

1. Couple of questions. What versions of DotNetNuke and the provider? What Server OS? If Server 2008 what pipeline mode is the app pool running in?

2. You have to manually enter the security groups into the Roles section. It's not automatic.

3. There's a couple of places that have documentation. The documentation on http://dnnauthad.codeplex.com is the official documentation but there's also some pinned posts at the top of this forum where users have listed any special settings they've had to use.

Hi, Mike!

DNN 06.01.03, Server 2008 R2 Standard, Hosting in house. and it's running in integrated pipeline mode.

Is there a way to discuss this issue with you off-line?

Thanks,
Herb

You didn't mention what version of the AD Provider you're using but if it's 05.00.02 then it has to run in the classic pipeline mode. Dan Ball has an excellent post here that covers what needs to be done. If it's 05.00.03 then you need to apply the last couple of lines that are contained in the 05.00.03 release notes but can also be found here.

My personal email is michael.john.horton@gmail.com but I can't guarantee how timely I'll be in getting back to you. I'm pretty slammed with work this week.
