If you look at page source for www.dotnetnuke.com you will see:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><head id="Head">

That is... the HTML tag is missing!
Since I had the same problem on a new DNN 6 site I'm working on these days, I already investigated and solved the problem, which in my case was due to a custom module for which I had "Supports partial rendering" enabled for the view control. Don't know if this could be the case for dotnetnuke.com, but I believe it's quite urgent to fix this.

Regards,
al.

Who cares what he is running.  He is pointing out that www.dotnetnuke.com is serving up rubbish HTML.  This has been pointed out before and CLEARLY NO ONE CARES.

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F...

So the product flagship website serves invalid HTML, but NO ONE CARES.

actually people do care, however not many engineers/qa spend substantial time in the forums as we're all pretty busy working on the next maintenance release and 6.2.0 - as such we rely on people logging items to gemini so they can be investigated.

Nobody on this thread or the linked thread posted a gemini ID so thats the reason why this has not been moved forward (engineers work off issues they're assigned, if an issue is not logged it never get's assigned). It also appears that at one point it seemed to be a snapsis issue http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F... , so if you're using that product I recommend checking that.

However based on later posts gzip is being implicated - as we plan to remove gzip compression from the core and recommend users use IIS compression that will perhaps resolve this, however I recommend logging this issue otherwise it will continue to be overlooked. Note: the overwhelming majority of users are on IIS7 or above which have built in compression - and in fact their hosting providers are compressing their sites already today -which anecdotally is likely to be the cause of some of the compression related issues (i.e. double-compression related problems)
