Hello people (and Mike =) )

As I said before, I was having problems because my web server is outside the intranet domain the people will use to access my site. This creates a problem with AD as I won't be able to execute LDAP querys. The solution I found is simple: they give me a VPN and everything will be okay cause I'll be inside the domain.

However, this solution is kind of horrible for me due to the VPN. Anyhow, the primary objective here is to login using Windows Authentication, that is: logging in with the user you currently have in windows. I don't want to use nor connect AD since I have no use for roles. I just want the user login to be automatic. The problem is that it seems that the windows authentication is paired up with the AD login and there's no way to use windows auth without AD. Is there a way to achieve this?

 Thanks a lot!!

Ummm I'm confused Haracio. If you're not going to connect to the AD then how are you going to do Windows authentication? There's no way to authenticate whether the windows user is valid or not without connecting to the AD.

Yeah that's what I was guessing. The thing that made me doubt is that even though you can't connect to active directory, the user account is created anyway automatically.

Thanks a lot for your time man, =-)
