Okay, I'm attempting to let users who have access to my module's settings upload certain files to be used with that particular module. Problem was that the upload would let you browse, but not hold onto the data for saving or use elsewhere after anything like a postback from user pressing a button or something. At first I thought it was the way I coded it, but it turns out it's because I'm doing this in the setting.ascx itself.

I tried the Upload in the View and it worked as it should, so this leads me to believe that it's because the setting is using AJAX. Correct me if I'm wrong on that. So, that might be interfering with my upload, but unfortunately I don't know how to fix this. It should be possible because I've seen uploads before in DNN's own modules.

Did you check if your "Settings.ascx" in module definition has "SupportPartialRendering" option enabled? It prevents full postbacks, letting only Ajax callbacks (as appears in this thread: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/203/threadid/449941/scope/posts.aspx)
