I found a workaround.

I rebuilt all the project references to DotNetNuke DLLs and now I seem to be able to compile OK. Somehow they had disappeared.

Now, even though it compiles OK, when I run the project from Visual Studio, the page doesn't render completely, only a part of it is visible, and a message showing "An unexpected error has occurred" is displayed.

I I try to log in, I never seem to be able to go any further tan the login page, the Login button seems to do nothing.

Since I can't log in, I cannot access the application event log, and I have no way of knowing what is going on.

Is there another way to see the error log? Or, can you think of the reason for this error?

Thanks in advance.

you can view the entries in the EventLog table directly in the database

I started the portal, and forced the error to appear... "An unexpected error has occurred", but nothing was registered in the log table. I'm issuing ther followinf query:

SELECT [LogGUID]
,[LogTypeKey]
,[LogConfigID]
,[LogUserID]
,[LogUserName]
,[LogPortalID]
,[LogPortalName]
,[LogCreateDate]
,[LogServerName]
,[LogProperties]
,[LogNotificationPending]
,[LogEventID]
FROM [DotNetNuke].[dbo].[EventLog]
ORDER BY LogCreateDate DESC

It shows nothing for today...

did you enable log buffer in Host Settings by accident?
