Good day,

I have a fresh 6.1.4 install, using Server 2008R2 (IIS7.5) and SQL Express 2008.  The DNN files are located in the \inetpub\wwwroot\dotnetnuke folder.  To access the website I have to use http://127.0.0.1/dotnetnuke (or http://server_name/dotnetnuke).  How can I set it up so that I can just go to http://127.0.0.1 (or http://server_name) and avoid the need for /dotnetnuke?  The site is internal only in my company currently, but plan on providing public access and want to avoid the "/dotnetnuke" requirement.

Thanks!

- Joe

Change the way dnn is setup on your server - instead of hosting it in a subfolder of the wwwroot web application path - place it in its own separate application and hosting.  So somewhere like \inetpub\dnn\  - and create a website in iis that points directly to that folder.

Note however that once you do this you can no longer access dnn using 127.0.0.1 - instead you would then always access it using a domain name - dnn.localhost or some such which maps back to 127.0.0.1.

Also make sure you set the permissions up correctly on the new folder.

Westa

I re-configured as you suggested and works great now with requiring the "/".

Thanks Westa!
