Today we have released a new version of our popular Microsoft Outlook Sync module for dnn. The module will two way link your DotNetNuke accounts to you MS outlook contacts, without the need to use any plugin on the client end.

DNN Outlook Sync

DotNetNuke Outlook Sync is a DNN Module that links you website user database to Outlook.

This advanced module is unlike other similar modules because it does not require any plugin (program) to be loaded onto your computer. Instead we are tapping into the advanced features of Microsoft Outlook to deliver this exciting two way linking of online and offline user data.

Once you have established the link between your website and Outlook, you can use the contact data as you would any other Outlook Contacts:

Instant Contact Details: View of user data from you site, send email directly to users from Outlook.

Import and Export Contacts: You can create a contact in Outlook (or drag and drop an existing list of contacts) to create DNN Module Version HistoryDotNetNuke User accounts. Conversely as users signup on your site, Contact records are automatically created in Outlook.

Convert an Email into Web User

Using the normal Outlook Function of dragging and dropping an email into the linked contact folder, you can create a new Contact, and subsequently a new DNN User Account in seconds.

View User Data from Email

Any time a registered member sends you an email, you can see pull up their profile data directly from the email with a single click. This will open the linked contact record from Outlook.

Import Export Linked Users

With an established linked relationship between DNN and Outlook, your user data is easy to manipulate in Outlook. Drag and drop the contacts to a public folder on Exchange, or export the contacts to CSV or PST files as you would any other contact..

Create Users from Outlook Contacts

You may drag and drop existing Outlook Contacts from other folders (like exchange public folder) into the linked Web Contact List. This will automatically create new user accounts for these new contacts..

Use Outlook to Track Customer Relations

Outlook has some great Customer Relationship Features. Against Outlook Sync linked contacts you can create Journal Entries of phone calls, notes on discussions, and auto track all MS Office related data, tasks and more.

Auto Map Lookup Users Address

Linked contacts can take advantage of the Outlook address mapping. Allowing you to see the MS Live Map location of the address linked from the website profile data directly to the related contact.

Advanced Search Data

Outlook 2007 and 2010 have advanced search data. This is auto picked up by Windows 7 and Vista search to allow you to look up website user data from your desktop!

Partial Search Match

Say you have a missed call and don't recognise the phone number. You can enter part of that number in Windows 7 search, and it will return the user profile data linked as a contact from your website.

Share Outlook Contacts with others without Exchange Server

Considered by some to be the Holy Grail. You can now share a complete customer contact list with all your staff by all linking to the same DNN Website via this module. No need to user Exchange Server.

Define how Linked Contacts are used in Outlook

Because this method of linking is standard to Outlook, the linked contacts can be defined in Outlook as your default contact list, allowing all normal Outlook features to be accessed.

No Plugin Required!

Unlike other DNN Contact Modules, this does not require any Outlook Client Side program to be run. No plugins at all. We are tapping into the core of Outlook simulating Microsoft SharePoint Connectors.

Auto Syncing

The synced DNN user data and Outlook Contact data remains automatically Synced using Outlook syncing technology. If a user updated a phone number, then that is reflected in your linked list automatically.
