This may seem like a silly question but my DNN install is telling me there are critical updates available. So i have clicked on the Red icon which took me to http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/releas... and then started a download of a zip file which I assume is the crtical update. what do I do now? I have extracted the zip file and it shows the file structure of DNN with all the affected files. I don't think I have to goe through each folder manually and copy over the new files, right?

No, just unzip the contents of that zipped file to the root of your DNN install and hit your website and it'll update your website. Just be sure to make a back up first in case something goes wrong, especially the web.config file.

Mark,

Thanks for the info. I unzipped the contents of the update into the root of my DNN install, then hit my website. I logged has host and it is still showing the old version number and the "critical updates" need to be installed????

When you unzipped the updates, the website should've informed you it was being updated. Did you see that or a similar message?
