I was searching for info about why there's no twitter icon for the blog and came across this old thread http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F...

I was wondering if anybody had successfully integrated tweets in their blog again, and what they did if so. Or if there's been any progress on including twitter again in the blog module.

Thanks

As Chris Hammond said, Twitter changed and it no longer worked (so it was removed). At this time, there are no plans to integrate it back in (after posting, a user could very easily use the 'Twitter' share button as an alternative).

When we removed Twitter integration, the intention was to make that integration occur more at the platform level.  The newest blog takes a step in the right direction by sending a notice to the core Journal API which will be part of the 6.2 platform.  This would allow us, or a community member, to build a Journal publishing feature which could push out Journal entries to whatever social network was desired.  This is a more flexible approach and means that the Blog team is not busy building plumbing that is needed for the entire platform.

Thanks for the feedback, I look forward to seeing it in a future release.

Chris, thanks for the suggestion about Twitter's share button, I might come up with a workaround using their share button snippet and dynamically adding my blog post URLs.
