Hi guys,

DNN 6.1.5  / Forum module 5.0.3   [nb, the problem predates my upgrade to these versions].

For some reason, ALL registered users are getting the moderate button and permission to moderate the forum..

The only permissions set on the module are:

All Users: View Module (enabled)
Unauthenticated Users: View Module (enabled)
and the default Administrators: View/Edit/Forum Admin/Global Admin.

The Moderate button is showing for the forum as a whole, not just for individual Discussions/Threads.

Unauthenticated users don't get the button, but every authenticated user does.

I've been round the various module settings and forum admin settings several times now.  Setting "All Users" to explicitly NOT have Forum Admin and Global Moderator permissions, has no effect.

Can anyone please tell me what I've missed?

Best regards

Dave.

Hi Sebastian,

At the page level:

Admins have inherited permissions.

"All users" have "View Page"
"Unathenticated Users" have "View Page"

No other permissions are set.

Thanks, and Best regards

Dave.

this sounds very strange. I am not sure, whether the module does properly deal with deny permissions per forum (even, if the permission grid does support this). Did you try to deselect all permissions, save and re-apply it?

Hi Sebastian,

I did, I'm afraid.

I don't know if it's relevant, but the site has two additional Roles, and every member of the site (apart from the admins) is a member of one or the other of these roles.

These roles also however have no permission entries set.

Are there any screenshots or other data I can collect that would help? While I don't yet know DNN particularly well, I'm a reasonably experienced developer and tech, so I should be able to get anything that you suggest.

Best regards, and many thanks for the help so far - it's much appreciated.

Dave.
