Hello,

I think I know the answer to this, but is it possible to not have URLs tied strictly to menu positioning?

The situation is that we do an annual conference. We would like the annual one to have a link like Conference/2012.aspx... that sort of thing. It would be cool if those links could stay that way, but, in the menus, we'd like to move those into an archive.

I know I could do this by creating new tabs that are used as links and make those for each of the matching pages, then I could remove the original from the menu. Is that the only way? Or, is there some way to customize a tab's url?

Thanks,

Mike

you can create custom rewrite rules in the siteurls.config - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Siteurls.aspx or use a 3rd party library such as ifintiy. Note: we plan to add a column to a future version of dotnetnuke to allow pages (tabs) to have a different name and url if desired
