Hello guys.

I have the idea of implementing some AJAX components in dotnetnuke. I have previous experience doing it JSP and Servlets with and Oracle Database, but rigth now I have to use ASP, C# and a SQL Server database.

I dont want to use any existent AJAX module, bacuse i want to implement my own custom javascript and xml processing. When I did it using JSP, i created my own AJAX library with all the connectivity methods, including one that define the main servlet and one that received the postback with the XML. Now the idea is quite different, bacause i have to use de Dotnetnuke as a main application, so i have to configure it into the javascript request, then call the method that actually do the custom database processing i want and then, receive the response from this method in the asp module and do some extra processing with depending on the response. I hope i made myself clear.

Do you know anyway to accomplish this? Basically the idea is to have asynchronous processes within a dotnetnuke module without executing the post method of the form that is used by default.

Thank you.

You should review the 6.2 beta and read up on the Services Framework blog posts about it. This should help guide you in the right direction. The wiki on this site also has some standard DotNetNuke module development articles (and links to training videos).
