Okay, thanks for the IIS timeout tip.  I'm moving to a virtual dedicated server so I can adjust that value to my needs.  I also noticed in the event log, I'm seeing a recurring error every time I access a page on the site, whether I log in or not.  Looks like it's skin related, but I'm not sure:

Yes, I verified the exception occurs when accessing any/each page, whether logged in or not.  The re-direct I mentioned earlier is irrelevant to this issue.  It's not relevant to the slow load issue either.

I have determined the container is at fault here. I will address it with the skin author(s).
