Hi Everyone,

I've tried getting my answer by searching these forums, but haven't come up with a match yet and was hoping someone could help me out. We're doing our first store front for a client and obviously there are several modules to choose from including Store, Smith and RevIndex. Currently the client has a very limited number of software products they want to sell (3 to be exact) Later on they hope to have many more products to offer. They want these to be downloadable and not have to deal with shipping. A couple of the store sites say your products can be downable, but clearly they don't provide the download software.

Would someone be so kind as to point me in the direction of various tools that might be available to manage this for the site? If I ddidn't ask the question right or you need more info, just let me know and I'll fill in the blanks.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Larry

AFAIK Catalook does support those purchases, I haven't checked out latest versions of this product and its competitors.

Revindex Storefront supports downloadable products (e.g. software, pdf, image, etc.) and you can disable the shipping so it won't require the customer to fill in shipping information streamlining the checkout process.

Check out the demo site http://demo.revindex.com (the user/password is provided on the Login page). You can also download the free Trial from http://www.revindex.com and test it on your server. The next release 4.3 (in a few weeks) will abstract away the simple rules so you don't need to write XSLT (you can still use it for complex business rules as your business grows if you need it).

Thanks,

Thank you for your inputs. I'll give the Revindex a trial run and let you know how it goes.

Once again, thanks.

Hi,

The last Store module 3.0.0 allow you to sell 'virtual products'. In the Store Admin module select 'Registration Required' for the 'Checkout Mode' setting (because a user account is required to enable this feature) then check the 'Allow Virtual Products'. Now in each product form, you can select the file to download when an order is payed bu the customer. To download his product, the customer have to loggin to your website, go to the 'My Account' page and click on 'Donwload', the downloadable products bued will be listed.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
