I'm going to try this post here.  I posted this in installation, but no answers after 4 days.

 Hello everyone,

I built a new development server running Windows Vista IIS 7 and I installed DNN 6.1.5.  My DB is SQL Server 2005 running on another machine (physically sitting right next to the dev server).

When I open my site with Firebug running, I see all the CSS files for DarkKnight trying to load, and eventually timing out.

Sometimes it works, but I cannot duplicate it with any regularity. It is always the CSS files that keep timing out.  I can rule out a database connection due to all the other files that are read and load correctly.

This is a picture of the firebug screen showing the css failures.

Any ideas?  Has anyone seen this before?

P.S.  I cut and paste the css files in the header of a new window, and they open right away.  It is something with the way DNN is calling/loading the files that causes the issues..

I changed Dark Knight to another built in CSS, and although it does load 30% of the time, the CSS is not complete.

try disabling the client dependency framework to see if that fixes it - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Blogs/EntryId/3243/Client-Resource-Management-Administration-for-DNN-6-1.aspx

Thanks for the response.  That did not seem to work.  I "minified" jquery and css files.  I enabled composite files...Nothing.

I did not see a way to disable the client dependency framework. Did I miss something on the link you sent?

But, I did learn something.  I have been using Firefox 11.0, I tried IE9 and I don't seem to have the problem.

Any ideas as to why Firefox would have these issues?  I will download Chrome and see what happens there.

Any other ideas would really be appreciated.

I upgraded from 6.1.3 to 6.1.5, and have also run into this problem of CSS files note being loaded. Only 2 of the 11 needed CSS files are being loaded. In my case, the two CSS files that load are superfish.css, and one of the container CSS files.

Any ideas for what might be wrong?

can you please check and see if there are any javascript errors (a simiar thread had this issue - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/200/threadid/454231/scope/posts.aspx ). Also, can you check and see if you have compression or whitespace removal enabled under host->host settings ->performance settings and if so disable them to see if that does anything.
