I'm have a simple skin that has 2 columns, a left column and a center column.  The left column is a fixed width and the center column can grow.  I have 2 tags, one for each column.  The part I'm having trouble with is getting the center column to be full width if there is no content in the left column.  Everything I try either keeps the center column a fixed width, or when I try and float a div, it falls below the left column div.

I figure there has got to be a simple solution to this and I'm not the only person trying to achieve this effect.  Thanks for any help.  Much appreciated.

Although I hesitate to use tables for layout, this is usually the easiest way to accomplish this. Use two TDs and only set a width on the first one.

I'm going to have to agree with Lee on this (that a table would be the simplest and most reliable solution). Skins created by Artisteer (www.artisteer.com) us JavaScript to adjust the ContentPane width when the Sidebar1/2 panes are empty. The JS doesn't work all of the time with all browsers..since it's post-processing on the client side.
I believe that tabled panes are processed at the server.
