You can compile and publish the project, but the danger is that upgrades will not work as you changed something in the core.

Another way is to contribute your code to the DNN Core Team.

Best wishes

please be aware that modified core files might get overwritten on upgrades. In general, you should try standing away from core changes.

Hi Sebastian,

I agree with you. It' definitely what I said, but thanks for your clearer words.

@sudhakar Babu: Changing the code in the core can be helpful, but takes you out of the upgrade process. If you have feature request, you should post them on Gemini, and if you contribute your code, chances are not too bad that they will get paid attention (when they make sense for a larger community and do not implement breaking changes).

Best wishes from Innsbruck to Karlsruhe :-)

AFAIK no. But it's quite easy. Just backup the web site directory (e.g. ZIP it), and restore it on the web server. If necessary, backup your database and restore it where you need it. Then set up the web site in IIS, assign the necessary permissions (depending on the IIS version and/or AppPool settings), modify the connection strings in the web.config file (if necessary) and change the alias in the PortalAlias table to fit the new URL. That's all.

Best wishes
Michael
