I'm using DNN 6.1.5.  I'm trying to prevent users from going to very specific URLs.  Is there an easy way to intercept users from going to these URLs and redirecting them to the correct ones?  These redirect would be site specific, not necessarily global.

Hello Paul,

Something like this could easily be accomplished using page redirects. As long as you're not trying to manage 100s or 1000s of pages.

View this link for info on how to redirect the pages: http://www.hardyconsulting.com/AboutUs/DotNetNuke/AllThingsDotNetNuke/tabid/294/EntryId/7/DotNetNuke-and-Short-URLs.aspx

I'm not sure that method will work for me as I'm trying to intercept directories and pages that do not exist and redirect them to pages that do.  I did a little more digging and I thought the best solution would be to add these pages to the web.config file in the root directory.  It seemed like it would be a simple solution.  Here's what I added as a test.

<location path="bing.html">
  <system.webServer>
    <httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="http://bing.com" httpResponseStatus="Temporary" />
  </system.webServer>
</location>

So, if I go to http://mydomain.com/bing.html, I get a 500 error that it cannot find the page.  Has anyone else done page redirecting like this and did you have to do anything special to get this to work?
