How do you change the names of folders in the admin file manager? More specifically, I would like to change the name of the portal root folder.

I posted this question on the forum sometime last week and only got one answer which was the following: "root folder can be renamed using Language Editor (in Host or Portal mode)." If this is correct, how do I get to the language editor to change the folder name?

the names of the folders reflect the names of the folders that exist i.e. the physical folder names. As for the "portal root" this is a piece of localized text so can be changed via the language editor - log in as host and go to admin->languages. You can edit it at various levels depending on need, so either select system/host/portal and locate the term and update it e.g. for the portal click it's pencil icon and then drill down local resources\DesktopModules\Admin\FileManager\App_LocalResources\FileManager.ascx and update the text
