How do I install a free module that I have downloaded in a zip file onto my computer? I was thinking you had to go to the Host -> Extensions section but I couldn't figure out what to do.

Sorry, I should rephrase the question. To install the module onto my site I went to Host -> Extensions -> Manage -> Install Extension Wizard -> Browse -> I selected the zipped module file that I downloaded to install and hit Next.

However, instead of proceeding with the download, it redirected me to a page that says "If you have reached this page it is because the installer needs to gather some more information, before proceeding."It asks me whether I am uploading a Skin, Container or Not a Skin/Container. When I click "Not a Skin/Container" it doesn't let me proceed. Is there a reason for this? How can I get the module to download?

I see this a lot when the zip file has another zip file within it and that second zip file is the module.

See if you can unzip the contents. If there's another zip file within, try to install that one.

I've seen this when the module or skin was originally developed for an older version of DNN and the included manifest file (the .dnn file that contains instructions for the installer on what files to put where) is missing something the newer version of DNN is looking for.

So when this happens, if DNN kicks it back and says "hey, what is this?".

You mention installing a "module" but you said you selected "Skin/Container" when the wizard asked you about the file. If it is a module, you need to select module instead.
